The Dean Word Company began in 1890 in Louisiana moving dirt with mule teams for road and levee construction. Twenty years later, the company’s structural capabilities increased by adding such services as bridge and culvert construction. More than 100 years have passed and our company now produces and tests aggregate and high quality hot mix material. By embarking on this industry, Dean Word has eliminated the need for asphalt subcontractors.

Today, Dean Word Company is a full service heavy highway contractor. We are currently working on numerous state highway projects in addition to a few maintenance projects.
